Gymnázium Český Brod is a traditional public secondary school in the Central Bohemian Region with a long history (founded in 1919). It is a classic grammar school focused on general education and preparing students for higher education, primarily university studies.

The school offers both an eight-year and a four-year study programme, which means that students can enroll either after 5th grade or upon completing primary school. The curriculum is general, providing students with a broad foundation across subjects—ranging from the humanities (Czech language, history) and natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics) to mathematics and computer science.

Foreign language education is an essential part of the curriculum. In addition to English, students choose German, French, or Spanish as their second foreign language. The school also emphasizes digital skills and information literacy to meet modern educational requirements.

The main objective of the school is to prepare students to successfully pass the school-leaving exam (maturita), foster critical thinking and independence, and enable their admission to universities across various fields.

The school is located in a historic building in Český Brod with its own grounds. Compared to larger urban schools, it is perceived as a smaller, quieter institution featuring a more personalized teaching approach, a friendly „family“ atmosphere, and strong connections among students across different years.
